TD Club Meeting Report 10/29/2021

Our speakers at the Newark Country Club included Defensive Quality Control Coach, Jalen Kindle, Deputy Athletic Director, Jordan Skolnick, and Associate Athletic Director for Communications, Denise Thompson. We also had a visit by Club favorite, Jerry Oravitz.
Jalen gave a report on the defensive squad and highlighted the excellent performances by Johnny Buchanan and Andrew Pawlowski in the JMU game in compensating for Colby Reeder’s absence due to injury.

Jordan gave us an insight into what Phase II of the facility renovations may include. The expectation is to make Delaware Field House the “home” of Delaware football. Possible enhancements include expanding the current indoor practice field from 70 yards to 100 yards, new offices, lockers, etc. He also disclosed that there will be a new video board in the stadium next year.

Denise filled us in regarding the other UD sports teams, as well as noting that RB Dejoun Lee was on the cusp of having over 4,000 all purpose yards in his career, placing him 9th all time at UD. Note: Dejoun accomplished it vs. Dixie State.

Our speakers on Friday, November 5th will be Assistant Coach for Corners, Holman Copeland and special guests, Ed Ginder and Earl Miller. Ed and Earl have been long time members of the “chain gang” at UD and will describe experiences, events and personalities that span from their careers with Dave Nelson, Tubby Raymond, to the present. We expect their memories to be highly entertaining.

As always, food served at 11:15, program at noon. $25 for members, $30 for guests.
